Congratulations to Drew Ramirez for being selected as the Orange Coast League Athlete of the Year.
Drew was honored last night at the Orange County Athletic Directors Association dinner.
A four sport athlete, he competed in football (earning All CIF and League honors as he helped lead the team to a league championship and the Division 8 semifinals), basketball (earning 2nd team all-league and helping lead the team to a 2nd place finish), baseball (where his speed and reliable glove locked down center field), and track (securing 3rd place at the Santa Ana City Championships in the 110 and 300 hurdles).
When not on the fields or in the gym, Drew could be found giving his time to special needs students on campus, assisting them with homework, and volunteering at the local Pop Warner practices, helping the kids with their gear and encouraging words.
Great job Drew! Your class, attitude, work ethic, and effort influenced every athlete you played with and every peer you gave your time to. The true embodiment of a Saint!
All of us at Santa Ana High wish you the greatest success as you take your talents to the University of Utah to play football and baseball.
