Multiple Teams · Girls Cross Country wins league championship

A huge congratulations to the varsity girls cross country team for finishing 5-0 in league and claiming at least a share of the Golden West League Championship by beating Segerstrom by 23 points (18-41) on Thursday, October 26. The victory over Segerstrom was the first dual meet loss for Segerstrom in 10 years.

Maria Hernandez won the varsity race in 18:15, followed by 2nd place finisher Nathalie Arenas. Lupe Aguirre, Bricia Guillen, Angie Mateo, Johany Carmona, and Heaven Garcia completed the pack that led to the big win.

The girls can claim an outright league championship with a win at League Finals next Wednesday! Good luck ladies!

Congratulations 2017 Golden West League Champions!!

The varsity boys faced little competition from Segerstrom as they went on to win by a 34 point margin (15-49), improving their record to 4-1. The team looks to avenge their 1 point loss to Ocean View at next week’s League Finals.

Brian Soriano led the Saints, winning the race with a 3 mile time of 15:31. Teammates Diego Duran, Justin Amaro, Jesse del Carmen, Francisco Avila, and Brandon Palacios came in close behind, leaving little hope for the Jaguars.

The girls JV, boys JV, and boys Frosh/Soph all finished 5-0 in league with a clean sweep of Segerstrom.

Outstanding job Saints Cross Country for an amazing season!!
